QCESA Operational Training Facility, Whyte Island, Brisbane
This project involved the expansion of the Queensland Combined Emergency Services Academy training facility at Whyte Island in Brisbane.
The facility has taken on a 'village' look with a replica petrol station, hospital entrance, takeaway shop, dress shop, 2 storey bank building, a fully functioning family home and backyard and even a large-scale ships hull.
These facilities will put current and up-and-coming ambulance and fire and rescue staff through situations faced day-to-day on the job. The buildings have high level ventilation systems for expelling smoke quickly, and includes a maze of surveillance systems allowing trainers to view all angles of a rescue operation from a seperate control centre.
Project Value: $15 million
