We are proud to announce that the St Joseph’s College Junior Block has recently won the 2015 Regional Project of the Year in the Darling Downs/West Moreton Queensland Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects Awards.
Working with Sims White & Greg Kratzmann Architects for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Toowoomba, Northbuild constructed a 2 story Class 9B (780m2) building which contains two science laboratories and Prep Room on the upper floor and three GLA classrooms downstairs.
Two wide concrete staircases provide access to upstairs from the lower area and the building is also serviced by a Lift. There are Male & Female toilets and a PWD toilet plus Comms Room & Gas Storage enclosure.
The building is surrounded by new landscaping with three new mature trees a feature within circular brick planters and both grey & coloured concrete paving, exposed aggregate paving and Brick paving. A new PWD ramp and stairs lead down from the Library building and the area has a combination of hardwood timber seating on the planter walls and freestanding.
This building will now progress to contend the State Awards in June this year.
