Northbuild was engaged by Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd to extend their current operational precinct with the addition of four buildings.
The project commenced in September 2012, full design and documentation was completed by GHD Pty Ltd. The buildings were steel framed with trim-deck cladding constructed amidst the existing operational precinct.
Site access was constrained by the production flow through traffic making delivery of materials such as some 6Tonne steel columns by flat bed semi logistically challenging.
Trades demonstrated outstanding workmanship with a 39m long 16.5m high acoustic block wall dividing the Administration and Workshop sections of the Warehouse Building and 239 tonnes of structural steel in the Warehouse building alone.
The project included sundry external works with 3455m2 of concrete poured for heavy duty roadways designed for heavy vehicle access and a 60 Tonne precast concrete Stormwater 360 unit buried under 730 cubic metres of backfill to process rainwater runoff from the precinct.
